Gettin’ Real Up In Here

I have a late start at work today and so far I’ve had a pretty productive morning… then I realized between work and school I’ve not written an email in a while so I wanted to apologize and say “Hi!”

I feel terrible about not writing and there is only so much I can do to adjust my schedule with how booked it is these days.

Usually, by the time, I’m able to write, I’m pretty tired. No excuses, that’s just how it is right now.

These are the things that you have to do to provide for your family… and it’s like the word says:

If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. -1 Timothy 5:8

Notice what Paul says? He doesn’t say “they”, Paul says “he”. That’s right men, calling you out here.

I know there are times when it sucks to be an adult but if you truly want to be a man of God then providing for your family is priority #1.

No excuses, no seeking after your wants and desires… if you want to be a man of God then you need to put your family first.

This is where I am right now. I’m doing what it takes to make sure my family is taken care of.

Unfortunately, right now that means the ministry has to take a back seat to my family, my job, school and my own private time with God.

I’m praying that God will allow me to spend more time on ministry soon but right now I have to stay focused. #adulting

I want to encourage my brothers out there:

Your role is hard, and I know the media keeps pushing this idea that men are worthless dopes only good for drinking beer and watching sports but that’s not what the Bible says, it’s not what God says and it’s definitely not what your family says.

Hard times come and hard times go but it’s how we build character and as you grow and handle your responsibilities you will also build a name for ourselves and it is through these trials that you earn the respect of those around you and create a legacy to leave for your children’s children.
