When Holy Spirit Smacks You Upside Your Head
Yesterday morning I was reading what is probably be my favorite book of the Bible.
The book of James is so short, so simple, and so powerful.
It just comes out swinging and Lord help you if you are in its way!
So there I was just minding my own business when out of nowhere… WHAM!
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. – James 4:8-10
Suddenly, I was acutely aware of all my shortcomings and all the areas I’ve been slacking.
You know those moments…
There you are reading God’s word and suddenly… Holy Spirit speaks…
I’ve been broken for two days now and don’t think I’ll get any sort of relief until I have a day off so I can just run to God and have myself a good cry….
Sure, there’s a lot that’s been going on and there are plenty of things in my life that need to change but the idea of going before God, confessing my sins and allowing myself to be broken before Him sounds so good right now.
So that’s where I am right now.
Broken, but in a good way.
Just a couple verses are all it takes for Holy Spirit to get your life in order.
If you’d like to hear from God more there are a few things you can actively do to prepare to hear from Him.
The easiest by far is reading His word.

This month we will be teaching you how to hear from God and move in the Prophetic.
That’s all for now…
