The Little Drummer Boy Next Door
My neighbor recently took up drumming.
I think he started about 3 weeks ago… and he practices for hours each day.
I remember when he started… it sounded pretty bad.
You could hear the constant mistakes and he’d start over and over again…
Now here we are just a few short weeks later and guess what?
He sounds pretty good.
What did it take to go from barely being able to hold the drumstick to now being able to make music?
It took determination and consistent, focused, practice.
In short, it took discipline.
If he was willing to put forth the time and energy to grow in something like music, how much more should we put forth time and energy into growing closer to our Heavenly Father?
Into spreading the Kingdom?
Into doing the good works, which God prepared beforehand that we would walk in them (Eph. 2:10)
An hour a day for a month and he can now make music?
What could an hour a day in prayer make you capable of?
He found an hour a day for drumming.
Can you find an hour a day for God?
Let’s commit to it together and see where God takes us!
