Losing That Edge
We spend a lot of time trying to make life easier.
But what if things are just a bit too easy these days?
Before I got married I was working and going to school full time.
My life was get up, go to school, go to work, go home and go to bed.
I was a machine!
Now?
Now I’m squishy.
I go to work, go home and reeeelax.
It’s pathetic.
Ok, I’m being a little dramatic but there is some truth to what I’m saying.
When I think about what I was accomplishing while single… I could have been the next Apostle Paul.
But I wanted to be married thank you very much ?
Now that I’m domesticated (i.e. married) I’ve lost a lot of that fire…
Why?
I’m thinking it’s because a good woman makes a man’s life so much better that they no longer feel that same need to conquer everything in sight.
Since I’m not going back to being single I have to ask myself… what can I do to get my edge back?
What needs to be done so that I once again feel that drive I used to have?
I know it can be done because we have the Biblical record showing most the other Apostles were married.
They were all probably married except Paul so what’s my problem?
Is my life just too good now?
Perhaps…
Or maybe it’s that I’d lost sight of my purpose.
I’m not so proud that I can’t admit when I’ve lost focus.
What are you focusing on?
Do you have a goal you are pursuing or are you simply living for time with your couch pillow?
I’d love to help you get to your goals and get your help getting to mine.
