This Is Where It Falls Apart
One of the hard things about my emotions returning recently is that I’m now having to deal with issues I’ve hidden for years.
I used to have a CD back in the day…
I had a few lol… but this one had a song on it all about your world falling apart.
It was very appropriate for a high school kid where it always seems like everything is falling apart.
The hook went, “This is where it falls apart, this is where it falls apart. I feel helpless as my **bad word** world comes crashing down on me!”
Although life isn’t nearly as dramatic as it was in high school, there are still times when everything seems to fall apart.
We do everything we can to keep our world safe and secure but there are things that are just simply beyond our control.
I’ve found this to be particularly true in my life for the past… I don’t know… 6years or so.
This is why in Ephesians 6 when Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God he also tells us to “stand firm.” He tells us this multiple times.
Unfortunately, Christ never promised us things would be easy. He did, however, say that He would be with us during those times of struggle.
The pain you suffer in this life can be devastating (real devastating, not high school devastating) but know it’s not the end.
He promised you that He would replace your sorrow with the oil of gladness:
To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. – Isaiah 61:3
It’s not about denying the pain, it’s about standing firm in that pain.
It’s not about pretending you don’t feel hurt, it’s about understanding there will be a time when Yeshua Himself will make everything right.
Don’t bury the pain because it will just come up again in some other way…
Face the pain,
embrace the healing,
and grow because of it.
Then use that pain to help your brother in their time of need because you may be the only one who can relate to them and reach them while they are in pain.
As a healed person you are in a unique position to heal others.

P.S. finally, I’m getting ready for tonight’s Bible Cafe Q&A. I’d love it if you can make it, if not please keep us in prayer as we try to bring clarity and truth to those in need.
