5 Friends, 5 Years
It took me a while but it’s finally happened.
I’ve realized time is the most valuable resource I have.
It’s the lack of control I have of my time that is driving a majority of the change I’m seeking right now.
It’s why I love anything that helps make my day more efficient.
It’s also why I’m making a list of people I want to spend more time with and making it a point to pursue deeper relationship with them.
Our time on earth is severely limited.
And if we are the total of the 5 people we spend the most time with then we’d better be intentional about who our friends are.
Look at the 5 people you spend the most time with… in 5 years your life is going to look just like theirs.
Are you ok with that?
I have very few people who are doing what I want but I do have books written by men I’d like to be like.
It’s not quite discipleship but it’s close.
What’s even better about reading their books is I’ll get their good habits and the best of their intentions while being able to avoid their bad habits.
Who are the 5 authors I’d like to be most like?
This is going to take some thought and prayer.
I’m called to be a reformer and a revivalist so I’d better focus on the men in history who’ve done just that.
What about you?
What’s your calling; do the people you hang out with move you closer or further from that calling?
If they are holding you back are they worth you missing out on your destiny?
5 friends, 5 years.
Plan accordingly.
